Compost Pile by Gate 14
Is the compost under the blue tarp by gate 14 available for anyone to use?
Per Manny, garden members are allowed to take 1 wheelbarrow of compost from the covered pile by gate 14.
Please recover when you are done. Thank you!

Hose thread size
Hello fellow gardeners! We are really excited to set up our plot and begin planting. We are making a list of garden equipment we need and a hose it at the top of it. What size connector/thread do we need on our hose in order to connect to the water spigots in the garden?

Our New Web Site!
Hello fellow gardeners! I hope you find our new garden website useful and easy to use. We built this site to vastly improve the annual process of renewing memberships in the garden and bringing new gardeners into our community.
I think you can imagine the effort and expense our voluntary president, secretary and treasurer expended in printing out renewal forms and three sets of documents; stuffing them into envelopes; stamping and mailing them; and then tracking the returned forms and checks and entering the information into a spreadsheet (more than 20 pieces of information). And then all this information and paper had to be filed away safely for future reference. And then there were trips to the post office and the bank.
Our new website eliminates all of this, allowing our association's officers to focus on more meaningful tasks in the garden itself.
We know the roll-out of the site…
I have a hack that some might find helpful. We purchased the Concentrates All Purpose Fertilizer to amend the soil in our plot and then took the rest of the large bag home. I brought about 2 cups to our plot in a zip lock baggie for adding to planting holes and to top dress transplants. I left it in the garden and some critter chewed a hole through the baggie.
I have taken an empty plastic container that used to have peppercorns in it. It holds one pound and two ounces and has a cap that is divided as many spice jars are; one side has a slot for the convenience of scooping out the contents and the other side has large holes so we can shake the contents out. I've filled this container with the fertilizer and now I can simply shake out the amount needed for planting holes and top dressing individual plants. It works a treat!
